How To Install Windows 8 With Windows 7 – Dual Boot

System Requirements for Dual Boot of Windows 8 With Windows 7 –

  1. 30GB Of Hard-disk space.
  2. Back-Up of your previous Windows OS (Just for safety, not required).

How to Install Windows 8 on another Partition

First of all, we need to create a storage partition on your hard-disk, before we proceed with installing Windows 8 on your computer.Go to the Windows Menu and use the search bar to search for “Disk Management“, select the option which reads – “Create and format hard disk partitions.

Please choose the Drive Volume that you want to partition or make space in and choose “Shrink Volume.

The second step is to enter the amount of storage you want to partition, for a standard installation of Windows 8 20-25GB of storage space partition is more than suffecient.So let us choose 20GB, 20GB – 1024X20= 20480MB.Enter this amount of storage in the box which read – “Enter the amount of space to shrink.

By completing the previous tep, Windows would have created a Volume which is as of yet “Unallocated“, right click on this (you can find this at the extreme right) and choose the option “New Simple Volume”. Installing Windows 8 On Your Computer

This should complete your installation of Windows 8 and now you can choose either the Windows 7 or Windows 8 Operating System when you start your computer.
